Fiuggi Terme and its surroundings

Fiuggi, with its famous waters all over Europe for their therapeutic qualities, is a vital center grown over time to welcome the many tourists. A visit through the streets of this splendid medieval township will allow you to cross some of the main architectural treasures of the city a town, among which stands the Church of San Biagio; built around 1100 and later rebuilt in Baroque style, has two beautiful paintings, Madonna on the throne, by G. Cesari, and S. Lorenzo baptizing S. Biagio of GB Speranza, in addition to a 13th century fresco depicting the Madonna col Bambino.Possiamo poi citare the Church of Santa Chiara, also known as S. Domenico di Cocullo, Porta della Portella, the Church of San Pietro Apostolo and finally the Cappuccini Chapel, located 2.5 km from Fiuggi, on the road leading up to the Arcinazzo Mountains, in a pleasant place rich in suggestions. Interesting are the buildings dating back to the early 20th century, particularly those in liberty style such as Villino Breda in the old town and a bit 'all the so-called Villini Zone. Also worthy of the achievements of the architect Garibaldi Burba, such as the Queen Pacis Church, the Boniface VIII Bridge and the Grande Albergo Palazzo della Fonte, considered one of the most prestigious in Europe

Valmontone

Valmontone is an important historical center just a few kilometers from Rome. Valmontone's origins go far beyond the legend. It seems to have been founded by Glauco, Minosse's son, and called Labicum (name of the battle shield). The Valmontone name appears for the first time in a document of 1139 and means "valley superseded by a mountain" from the elevated position of the old historical center. The period of greatest splendor for the town was in the seventeenth century, when the Pamphilj family made it splendid from an artistic and monumental point of view, with the historic palace of the family that still preserves the original cycle of frescoes. To visit: Palazzo Doria-Pamphilj; the Archaeological Museum; The Collegiate; the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Gonfalone; the Santo Stefano church; the Doors of the Walls. Valmontone is surrounded by cities of rich historical and cultural significance.
