The first deep impression, which the foreigner who arrives in Marina di Pietrasanta feels, is aroused by the vision of the beach and the sea. A vast and soft beach that stretches for almost five kilometers, wide in some places up to 200 meters; a very clear blue sea, whose bottom slopes gently, giving confidence even to the most inexperienced of swimmers. The breadth of this beach is such that even in times of greatest affluence, the bathers who visit it find it perfectly at ease, due to the availability of space that everyone enjoys. Over 100 bathing establishments are located along the beach, perfectly equipped, which are accessed through a series of gardens. Immediately afterwards runs the coastal avenue on which the internal network leads. Urban settlements are interspersed with parks and gardens and shy away from taking on a characteristic town to accentuate the residential aspect. Focette, Motrone and Fiumetto are typical examples. Born in a vast pine forest, these centers consist of elegant villas and hotels surrounded by greenery; they have suggestive streets, tennis courts surrounded by pine trees, shops and very famous night clubs, in which international variety shows are organized during the season. With more urban features, it houses the city center and the main tourist facilities.
