One of the oldest towns on the island of Rhodes, Afandou is located about 5km from the town of Faliraki and 19 from the city of Rhodes and is one of the major population centers dell'isola.Afandou is said to have a long history (the first settlements They have been dated to about 3000 years ago), and up to the tenth century it was considered one of the quieter parts of the island. The citizens, who saw prey of all good things, they decided to move the village over the mountains, so it was not visible from the coast - this village is named: "Afantou" in greek means "invisible".
